We Envision
We dream to reconstruct and preserve the Ancient Port of Adulis comprehensively, as was done by Dr. Daniel Habtemichael's research at the University of Massachusetts, accumulating human and financial resources to achieve this vision is fundamental.
We expect archaeological research at Adulis to educate, inspire, and to provide a comparison. We believe, doing so will create historical and intellectual capital, a much-needed spark for the revival of Eritrea's economy and governance in Northern Horn of Africa and the World.
Our Mission
1. Preservation
To document and present the past of Eritrea as retrieved and studied by the archaeological research.
2. Documentation
The archaeologically based study can serve as a point of departure and further comparison—thus remedying transmission accidents in the past and, in some instances, colonial erasure of the history, and placing the contemporary debate within-firm ground.
3. Dissemination of Archaeological Research
Assisting Eritreans and general public to interact with archaeological researches using modern information dissemination.
Our Near Future Plans
Although there are thousands of ancient sites in Eritrea, the following sites are directly interconnected to ancient Adulis, and we expect to complete the archaeological research on them soon.
